As the most important amateur golf organization of our country, MVK International Turkish Amateur Open Championship was played in the Titanic Golf Club in Antalya, Belek between September 12 and 15. At the end of the final round of championship, Danish golfer Kasper Nyland became the champion in men with at total of 287 hits (-1), and Russian golfer ranked first in women with a total of 281 hits (-7).
Organized by the Turkish Golf Federation since 2001 on a regular basis, International Turkish Amateur Open Championship was held in Antalya Belek for the 18th time this year.
55 golfers from 11 countries competed in the tournament played in Titanic Golf Club. A total of 30 Turkish athletes including eleven women played in the championship.
At the end of the third round of championship, Danish golfer Kasper Nyland ranked first in men with a total of 287 hits (-1), followed by Danish golfer Mads Poddik with 288 hits (par), and Russian golfer Egor Eroshenko with 291 hits (+3).
The winner of last year’s tournament among women, Russian golfer Nataliya Guseva ranked first in women with a total of 281 hits (-7), followed by Dutch golfer Lizzy Peeters with 283 hits (-5), and our National athlete Petek Peker with 300 hits (+12). Award ceremony was organized after the final round of MVK International Turkish Amateur Open Championship.
Antalya Provincial Director of Youth and Sports, Assoc. Prof.Dr. Burhanettin Hacıcaferoğlu, TGF Member of the Board of Directors Emre Bahtoğlu, TGF Secretary General Erdoğan Akkaya, THY Antalya Sales Manager Mehmet Murat Gürçay, THY Antalya Marketing Chief Özlem Çatalcalı, and THY Antalya Sales Chief Burak Ekinci attended the award ceremony.
The winners received their cups from the TGF Secretary General Erdoğan Akkaya and Antalya Provincial Director of Youth and Sports, Assoc. Prof.Dr. Burhanettin Hacıcaferoğlu. THY Antalya Sales Manager Mehmet Murat Gürçay, presented a Business flight ticket valid for any part of the world to the winners of women and men categories on behalf of Turkish Airlines. Economy ticket valid for any part of the world was presented to those that ranked second and third.
